5 YouVersion Devotionals for the Christmas Season | Blogmas 2021

One of my favorite and traditional posts for Blogmas is the digital devotion recommendations for the advent & Christmas season. I know that I personally, always need some extra time of focus during this busy season to keep my heart set on what is important. Today, I’m kicking off Blogmas 2021 by sharing 5 YouVersion Devotionals for the Christmas Season.

These are all devotionals available for free on the Bible app or at Bible.com. There are hundreds of options for devotionals about the Christmas season so these are just a few I thought looked interesting. You can find devotions that range in topics and length- which is why I love this app! If you’d like some more recommendations, see my past YouVersion devotional posts here.

5 YouVersion Devotionals for the Christmas Season

Christmas Promises Fulfilled

For anyone who needs a shorter devotion plan to start off with, this “Christmas Promises Fulfilled” plan is a quick 5-day plan. Maybe you’re out of the habit of doing a devotional and want to start with something smaller- this is a great plan to start with! This devotion is about how the birth and life of Jesus fulfilled so many Old Testament prophecies. How his birth gives us hope because God is a God of promise. Jesus’ birth is just another (really big) example of how God fulfills his promises. This devotion would be a great way to remind yourself of that.

  • 5-day devotional plan
  • daily devotional reading + multiple scripture passages
  • Venture3 Media devotional
  • Audio or “read to me” option availalbe on app

Experiencing The Holidays With Jesus: Christmas

This is one I for sure plan to take part in during this season. I think I too often forget to fully experience Jesus and what he has to offer. They say that this plan is perfect for individuals, couples, families, and even small groups. And it is supposed to be perfect for anyone who feels alone at Christmas. The goal is for each day to prepare our hearts to celebrate Jesus’ birthday. One great thing about this plan is that each day comes with a recommended activity!

  • 25-day devotional plan
  • daily devotional reading + scripture passages (typically multiple passages each day)
  • Grief Bites devotional
  • Audio or “read to me” option availalbe on app

Advent: The Journey To Christmas

Another great option is this plan titled “Advent: The Journey to Christmas.” It is a full 25-day devotional plan to fill the advent season. The plan is explained like this: “Let’s take a journey over the next 25 days to discover God’s intricate plan to save the world from sin and the promises fulfilled in the birth of His Son.” Obviously, it is in the name, but this plan is perfect to do as a family during the Advent season (which starts today).

These are all devotionals available for free on the Bible app or at Bible.com .

  • 25-day devotional plan
  • daily devotional reading + scripture passages (typically multiple passages each day)
  • Church of the Highlands devotional
  • Audio or “read to me” option availalbe on app

Imperfect Christmas

More than at any other time, I feel this insane need to make everything perfect. Perfect gifts, perfect plans…everything has to be perfect. But let’s be honest, it rarely ever is perfect. When I saw this devotion I knew it was one I needed to do and thought y’all might enjoy. This is a 12-day devotional plan that comes in all about remembering that we don’t have to have everything together for Jesus. We aren’t perfect, but Jesus is. And especially at Christmas, we need to remember that beautiful things can be imperfect.

  • 12-day devotional plan
  • daily devotional reading + multiple scripture passages
  • Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale devotional
  • Audio or “read to me” option availalbe on app

A Weary World Rejoices – Advent 2021

I’m weary, our world is truly weary. It has been a long few years for most of us especially with the pandemic. I think maybe the line, “the weary world rejoices” has never been more fitting. This is a longer plan, at 27-days. If you’ve done a devotion with this title in the past, this is the version made for 2021. I will say that the devotion part of the daily readings is much shorter than the others- so that might be better or worse for some of you- so I wanted to mention it.

  • 27-day devotional plan
  • daily devotional reading + scripture passages
  • Brittay Rust devotional
  • Audio or “read to me” option availalbe on app

As I mentioned, these are just a few of the many, many devotional options on the YouVersion Bible app. I hope that you enjoy these YouVersion Devotionals posts that I do each year. If you have another suggestion that you are planning to do, leave it in the comments below! I hope this is a great Blogmas- see ya soon!
