We’ve all seen those many, many high end makeup brands that promise a long list of things for a small price of a kidney. Maybe you can afford it all, I however, cannot. Sadly, I’ve always had expensive taste…just ask my parents! So every once in a while, I’ll splurge on a high end product!
I normally spend many days contemplating and researching a “big ticket item” before taking the plunge and buying it. Surely I’m not the only one that does that. In fact, it took me over a year to buy a YSL lipstick. I decided it might be a great idea to share a few of the high end products I consider to be worth it.
Of course, some of this is subjective, but overall I really enjoy hearing what people think about products before I buy them; especially if it’s expensive. So hopefully I can give you a good look into some of my high end “worth it” products.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder $38
I received this product complimentary from Influenster a few months ago and have been loving it since then. I normally hate loose powders but this one I don’t mind. The coverage is good and it makes my face feel matte and smooth. It has a more yellow/bone tone to it but it still applies translucent. It goes well over any kind of concealer or liquid foundation I use. The price is steep but it doesn’t take much to set your face so you would be able to use it for a while. I rarely would spend that price for just a powder but I truly feel like this powder is worth it. It makes my skin look flawless and smooth.
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick $37
Ya’ll know I have loved this lipstick for a very long time. I first purchased one about 7 months ago and it’s honestly one of the best lip products I have ever used. It is such a beautiful mix of high pigment and moisturizing balm. I have never had this lipstick bleed on my corners, feather in the middle, get on my teeth, or be hard to apply. Because of its balm like consistency, it eventually just melts into your skin after giving you good color pay off for a while. It’s so buttery smooth but not sticky (I hate stick lip products). Yes it’s expensive, but worth it if you love lipsticks. I have a perfect summer/spring shade and I’m looking to get a good one for fall/winter. I honestly love this high end makeup brand even though I can’t really afford anything but this lipstick!
Arbonne Perfecting Liquid Foundation $44
By far, this is my favorite high end foundation so far. I love the coverage, the wear, and the color range. It’s all natural and completely safe & beneficial for your skin. I know this is steep, but if you’re able to afford it- I highly recommend it. It’s no more higher priced than most high end products. I love knowing that this is healthy for my skin and perfect for everyday use. It’s nothing I have ever found in other foundations so I continue to buy this one. I go back every time!
Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow $24
Hello beautiful!! I’ve loved these since the minute I saw them used in a video. I now own 2 of the colors, molten midnight & kitten karma. I’ve learned how to use these both in glam looks and a little more of a subtle way. They’re pure pigment and shimmer. The glitter is a little thicker than I normally like but for these, it works. I would like to do a review/uses post about these, would that be something you’d like to see? Let me know in the comments. Stila is quickly becoming one of my favorite high end makeup brands.
Clinique Superpowder Double Face Makeup $26
I mentioned this product when I shared my Quick & Easy Makeup Tips post a few months ago. I love this powder foundation for simple or fast makeup looks. I’ve tried other drugstore and high end powders but this is what I’ve been wearing for years. When I first started wearing foundation, my mom purchased me this powder. The Superpowder is perfect because it has more heavy coverage than most powder foundations. I still feel covered when I just throw this on with no liquid or even concealer. I bought this powder back in June and I’m just now hitting pan because it doesn’t take much and its only my “lazy days” makeup. I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a high end makeup full-coverage powder.
