Write a post, create graphics, reply to brands, post on Instagram, post on twitter, reply to other bloggers social media, post on Facebook, read other blogs, write tomorrow’s post, follow new people, like tons of others Instagram pictures, pray my numbers increase, constantly connect with people, and brainstorm more posts. Then turn around and do it all again tomorrow.
Blogging isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s not always easy. Followers don’t come easily and brands want to use blogs with followers. For many it’s a comparison game, it’s a numbers game, and it’s a game for fame. Blogging isn’t always easy…but do you know why I blog? Because I love it.
I want to be real not sound like I’m complaining. I’m just expressing that blogging isn’t as easy peasy as most people think it is. I realized this weekend how much I’ve been complaining, how negative I’ve been, and how defeated I’ve been. No more. God is at work at me, and this is the beginning, remember why I do what I do. It’s hard work. It’s creative work. It’s work that’s worth it.
Today I thought I would share a few reasons why I blog. Because it’ll help me remember why I love it so much and give you a glimpse at my “why.” This weekend taught me how much I need to stand up and keep going-and that I’m exactly where I need to be. Long story short, I need to take my own advice. I need to preach to myself and I thought one way would be to remember & share why I blog and why I feel called to continue Writings & Worship.
1. I blog because I want to inspire
As a Christian, we are called to share the Gospel, and for me, my blog is just a little glimpse of that. My prayer is that W&W inspires someone, encourages someone, and shows them the Lord. I blog because I want to leave a mark on this world.
2. I blog because I want to write
You might not know this, but I also write fiction. I write pretty much anything and always have. Writing is my God given gift that I have such an incredible passion for. My whole being desires to write and write constantly. I want to write for as long as I can and as much as I can. I never thought I’d be a blogger (well it wasn’t even a thing when I was growing up) but this blog gives me the opportunity to write and for people to read my writing.
3. I blog because I want to share things with others
Y’all might not care at all about my favorite makeup or favorite song, but I love having the opportunity to share things with you. I don’t consider myself a wealthy of incredible knowledge but it’s always exciting getting to share some tricks or favorites with my readers.
4. I blog because I want my light to shine
Similarly to reason #1, I blog because I want people to see Jesus through me in the midst of this dark world. Just like my “about me” page says, whether I’m talking about makeup or worship, I am always trying to blog with Christ at the center of everything. I want the light of Christ in me to shine through every word and every post. I pray my blog is a light in the darkness for someone who needs it, like other readings have been for me. My goal is always to be aligned with scripture in all things, including W&W.
5. I blog because I’m called to
I would say that right now, blogging is my calling. I believe it’s a way for me to use my talents to glorify God and it’s something He has called me to do at this time in my life. I’m called to write and to share the love of Jesus with others and this blog meshes it all together! And I’m going to be striving to walk more worthy of my calling from now on.
6. I blog because I love it
Every post, every share, every picture… I love. Blogging is such a big part of my heart. No matter how hard it is, I continue it because I love it. I love sharing my world and my knowledge with y’all. Even the hard parts are worth it, because it’s something I’m passionate about. I hope you see my love and my passion in each post I share. I blog because I love it and it’s fun.
