One goal I have for 2017 is to get into the Word more and more; even if it’s only a few verses a day. I’m horrible at daily quiet times and that’s going to change this year! Scripture is great (and needed) to read but memorizing is important as well.
When you memorize scripture, it’s always with you. In those trials, temptations, and down days…scripture can remind You of the truth and the goodness of God. I’ve always acted like memorizing scripture is hard but as long as I put my mind to it- I can accomplish it!
Today I wanted to share 5 verses I’m trying to memorize here in the beginning of a new year. When I ge these down, I’ll find more! There’s alway more to memorize! I just shared the reference and the verse for a quick little blog to post for ya’ll.
Psalm 119:75
75 I know, Lord, that your laws are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
Galatians 6:9
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Psalm 9:10
“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”
Psalm 143:8
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”
Lamentations 3:22
“Because of the Lord ʼs great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.”
Each of these verses hold special meaning or a message I want to be able to remember in times of need. From trust to being faithful, these verses struck a chord with me and I am excited to memorize them.
Are there any verses you are wanting to memorize?? If not, pick one above and we will memorize together! Scripture does not leave our hearts…we must keep it close though!!
