Fictional characters I wish were my friends {part 1}

Do you ever read a book and fall in love with a character? Or maybe know instantly that you would be good friends with a character? If you are a book nerd like me you will probably understand these feelings of attachment we get to the characters in the books. I have several characters that I wish were my best friends. Maybe I’m crazy, but I have a feeling you know what I am talking about.

Today I thought I would share some of my favorite characters. The characters I wish were my friends. The ones I wish I could hang out with for just a few minutes. Let’s face it, the characters we wish were real.

Kate O’Malley– The O’Malley series by Dee Henderson

I have mentioned this series before. I really love them, I encourage you to check them out. You can buy them at Amazon. Anyway, Kate is a strong woman. She’s a hostage negotiator and she looks danger in the eyes everyday and never wavers. And she is protective and a great friend to her siblings. I think she would be pretty cool to hang out with.

Peeta Mellark- The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins

I love Peeta. In fact, I would probably marry him instantly if I could. 🙂 But more than that, Peeta is such an incredible character. He might not be as “talented” of some of the tributes but he is selfless and kind. He seems like such a genuine character. I really wish he was real! He is definitely someone I would want as my friend.

Hermione Granger- The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

Who doesn’t want to be Hermione’s friend? She is smart and brave. And she punched Malfoy! I think this character is very complex and interesting. She deals with being muggle born with grace even though some of Hogwarts continually call her the worst name you could call a muggle. Yet she continues to show them up by being the best in the class. You go girl! Hermione is always someone you want on your side.

Neville Longbottom- The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

Ah Neville. I think if we were honest, we all have a little Neville Longbottom in us. The poor kid at Hogwarts that seemed like he couldn’t actually do anything right. But this is also the boy who lost his parents because of Deatheaters, who visited them in the hospital but had to seem them living in insanity. This is the boy who stood up to Harry, Hermione, and Ron so that their house wouldn’t lose points again. And this is the man who stood up to the Dark Lord in the Deathly Hallows. I think Neville would make an amazing friend. He is so sweet!
