After sharing my favorite “Vacation Spots” I wanted to give you a little insight into what my staycation looked like. When you don’t have enough money to go on an actual vacation that doesn’t mean there’s no vacation.
I sorted through Groupon and other sale websites and found a hotel for a really good price. My sister and I set off down the road and spent two nights away from home and work- relaxing and “staycationing.” We tried to go and do things we don’t ever do on normal days which gave the getaway a more vacation feel. Here are a few of the highlights from our getaway.
Swimming {of course}
The hotel we stayed at had a gorgeous outdoor pool hidden in the middle of trees and flowers. I felt like I was on an island somewhere not in OK. The water as cool and crisp which felt amazing in contrast with the harsh and HOT sun. For the great price we paid, this pool was incredible and luxurious.
All About Cha- Stylish Coffee and Tea
I found this ADORABLE coffee and tea shop and knew we had to try it!! I believe I found my new favorite spot to write, read, and drink. With a Korean flare, All About Cha is nothing like your typical Starbucks. We got a few things and shared them: fruit filled crepes, chicken croissant, and I enjoyed an iced caramel macchiato. All of which was tasty, indulgent, and extremely yummy! The decor of the place was probably one of my favorite aspects of it.
Lake Hefner Photo-shoot
Hefner Lake is a small lake in OK that many people sail and wind-board on during the summer. My sister and I splurged on one big fancy meal so we could look out over the lake. I have always loved this little pier and I couldn’t resist taking some photos of it.
Roxy’s Ice Cream Social
I think this might have been the cutest little stop on our staycation. I had been wanting to stop by and try this little gem….and it was so worth it. Set up with bright, vibrant colors and a old fashion looking bar, this ice cream shop makes you feel like you stepped back into a technicolor ice cream parlor. They have floats, dips, cones, and even ice cream sandwiches. The place never had a short line, it was packed and I understand why. If you live or visit OK, go check it out!
Wheeler Farris Wheel
The Wheeler Ferris Wheel is a new addition to the Oklahoma downtown scene. It was closed, but we got to stop and still take some beautiful photos of it. I can’t wait to actually ride it, but the pictures are beautiful {if I say so myself 🙂 } It’s going to be a great new place for OKC.
I love going on adventures with my sister…especially when they don’t cost too much money! What is your favorite thing to do on a staycation??
