Welcome friends to another Makeup Monday! I am obsessed with makeup, as you know; but sometimes I am late to the game. Today I will be reviewing/giving first impressions of 2 Tarte palette’s I recently purchased during their 30% off sale!
I am late to the party because these palettes have been out for quite a while. I bought them on the Tarte website and both were already on sale. BUT they were on sale + 30% off was too hard to pass up! Who cares if they’re last season if they’re affordable. I purchased both palette’s for less than one would have been normally.
Both of these palette contain both eye and cheek colors with some beautiful neutrals and a few coppery shades as well.
The first palette is the Empower Flower Amazonian clay collectors palette. This palette comes with 3 blush/contour colors, 8 shadows, and a dual ended brush (not pictured).
These shadows are a buttery smooth consistency with pretty good color pay off. The top row is full of coppery-brown colors and the second row is grey-purple tones. The middle blush color is my favorite–a perfect pink for the cheeks. The contour color is actually very nice; it is fairly light and is easy to build up where you want more color. The 2 blush colors are matte and the bronze color has a light shimmer to it. The shadows have 2 shimmery colors and the rest are matte which I loved!

The packaging is adorable! It’s thick cardboard-ish packaging but is extremely sturdy. There is also a fairly long, though thin, mirror to use in the palette.
The second palette is the Poppy Picnic Amazonian clay eye and cheek palette. This contains one nice size blush and 6 shadows.
I would say the blush is my favorite part of this palette. It is a beautiful shimmery pink color (different from the blush from the previous palette). There are 2 trios of shadows. One side is very neutral with light brown and a darker brown. The second trio is a little more pink/peach in tone.
A large mirror comes in this palette and it is a perfect size! The packaging is flawless! I am a sucker for anything pink, gold, and shiny. It is made of a plastic metal like material which is good for durability. Bright pink and purple poppies cover the front of the palette (which is what first caught my eye when I was browsing online).
Overall, I have loved these palette’s so far! I’ve only used the cheek colors and a few of the shadows but the color pay off is pretty good and these colors help make a great everyday look. They are smooth, build-able, and the shimmer is fine and not chunky. The palette’s themselves are thin so they would travel well. These palette’s are still available at Tarte last time I checked, so go get you one!
Have you tried either of these products?? What did you think? Let me know if the comments!!
