Yes, I’m a few minutes late. Oh well!
HAPPY NEW YEAR y’all! I hope today feels like a fresh start. Today I’m kicking off 2016 with one of my new theme days-Fiction Friday! You know me, I’m a complete book nerd and in love with all things books. I love to read them and write them. Today I wanted to give you a few reasons why I LOVE reading. Fiction is a beautiful thing so I wanted to share some encouraging reasons you should be reading and involved in books. Fiction Friday is all about books and why I love them.
Reading is a great escape. It’s a great stress reliever. Anytime I’m stressed out or overwhelmed, I sit and read. I get to let my mind focus on the book instead of the billion things going through my head. It’s a great way to spend some time.
Fiction allows you to be anything and do anything. When I read- I can imagine myself as the characters. So for just a few hundred pages I’m a detective, a wife, a wizard, someone who could win the hunger games, a barrel racer…etc. I’ve always been a dreamer and someone with a great imagination. Fiction let’s you be everything you can’t be but everything you want to be. Reading allows me to experience many different things. With a book in hand, there’s never a dull moment.
There’s a book for anyone. Books come in such a wide variety of things. I love mystery, young adult fiction, Christian romance, and many more genres of books. I love that there’s some kind of book for anyone looking. And that a book can contain so many genres in one! Some of my favorite books are mystery Christian romance books-a little of everything! There’s always new types to try out and read.
Books are always there. I know, I probably sound nuts. But I bet a true book nerd (especially a introverted one) would agree. After a hard day or a fight with a friend, books are there to comfort you and take your mind off things. My books never let me down!!
What are your favorite reasons for loving to read? I’d love to hear!
I hope you are as excited as I am about the new theme days for 2016! I can’t wait to share more with you this year.
